Adobe Photoshop Lightroom

- Adobe's digital photo editor. It can be used for “developing” “digital negatives” (DNG, Raw data formats), retouching photographs and organizing their catalog.

Description

Lightroom means “bright room”, that is, the program was conceived as a digital analogue of a darkroom (English dark room, “dark room”), in which photographers display films, print pictures and perform other manipulations. Based on the source code of a previously released Pixmantec Rawshooter program. The Adobe Photoshop Lightroom user interface is written using Lua.

A feature of the program is “non-destructive editing”, in which the original image file remains unchanged, and all image editing operations are performed on working files automatically generated from the master file - “versions”. Able to work with Raw format, also supports DNG. Since 2013, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom has the ability to crop photos according to the diagonal method, along with other composition rules.

Versions

Starting with the 3rd version, it became possible to publish pictures on photo hosting and social networks Flickr, Facebook and others directly from the program.

In the 4th version for Microsoft Windows, support for Windows XP was discontinued. Windows Vista and above are required for operation.

Version 5 for Microsoft Windows discontinued support for Windows Vista. Windows 7 or later is required for operation. The Macintosh version discontinued support for Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6. - Requires OS X 10.7 Lion and higher to work.

The 6th version, or Adobe Photoshop Lightroom CC 2015, was officially released on April 21, 2015. This is the first version of Lightroom to support only a 64-bit operating system. Starting with Lightroom 6, OS X 10.10 Yosemite and higher is required.
